Sachse High School students are turning their hallways into a house of horrors on Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, with a non-perishable food item worth a $5 break at the door.

Sachse Mustang Theatre opens "Sachse, School of Screams: Once Upon a Sachse Haunted House" at the school both nights. Tickets are sold at the door with two options: a One Path ticket for $10 per person or a Two Paths ticket for $15 per person, according to the theatre program's post on X.

Anyone who brings a non-perishable food item gets a $5 discount, limited to one discount per person. The post did not name the organization that will receive the donated items.

The event's hours differ depending on the source. The theatre program's X post lists hours as 6 to 10 p.m. both nights. The school's student newspaper, The Stampede, lists the haunted house as open from 3 p.m. to midnight on both days.

The haunted house is an annual tradition for the student theatre program, which holds Gold Honor Troupe status as International Thespian Society Troupe No. 6712. According to the Garland ISD theatre arts page, a past edition of the event involved nearly 200 students, directors, parents and community members who collaborated to build the experience.

Students spent the week of Oct. 19 through Oct. 22 building the set in the school's fine arts hallways, according to The Stampede.
