Children’s athletics sessions and an adult sewing workshop remain on the fall calendar at Wylie Recreation Center, though residents should contact staff to confirm whether they can still enroll.
Amazing Athletes runs Tuesdays through Nov. 10 at the center, 300 Country Club Road, Building 200. The program introduces children to skills used in several sports, including football, baseball, soccer and basketball, according to the organizer’s listing.
Children ages 3–5 meet from 6 to 6:45 p.m., followed by ages 6–7 from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. Parent participation is required. Families register each child, with the accompanying parent included, and pay a separate $20 uniform fee to the instructor.
For adults, a Festive Fall Pillow sewing workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14. It follows an Oct. 24 pants-tailoring workshop, according to the adult sewing listing.
The sewing activities are open to participants ages 16 and older. Participants should bring a sewing machine; a limited number are available upon request. A $10 supply fee is payable to the instructor.
Both programs’ public listings currently direct prospective participants to check with the city rather than offering registration through those pages.
The city generally accepts activity registrations online and in person, and Rec Pass holders can save up to 15%, according to its registration information.
