Collin College's Electronic Engineering Technology program earned a 2026 Tech Titans of the Future award, recognizing a workforce pipeline that serves more than 160 students across Collin County.
The Technology Association for North Texas, known as Tech Titans, presented the College/University Award to the program and its leader, Tripat Baweja, dean of Academic Affairs and Workforce Programs at the Collin College Technical Campus. The ceremony took place Aug. 28 at the Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center, according to Dallas Innovates, with roughly 500 guests in attendance.
The award recognizes a college or university in North Texas that supports students in choosing engineering and technology careers, according to Tech Titans. A peer panel selected the finalists and winners.
The EET program offers a two-year associate degree for an estimated $6,718 in tuition, fees and books. Students learn analog and digital circuits, robotics, microcontrollers and instrumentation. The program connects students to jobs through stackable credentials, dual-credit partnerships with local school districts and a Raytheon apprenticeship.
Collin College has a campus at 391 Country Club Road in Wylie, directly serving students in the Murphy, Wylie and Sachse area.
Brenden Mesch, provost of the Collin College Technical Campus, said the EET program has expanded over the past five years by engaging with school districts and industry partners. Baweja credited her team for the recognition.
"To receive this prestigious award in front of 500 guests … for work that took years to complete, is indeed an honor and a privilege that I could not have achieved without great leadership and an awesome team," Baweja said in the college's announcement.
The win marks the second time Collin College has taken the Tech Titans College/University category. The college's Engineering and Technology Departments won in 2014, according to Tech Titans' past winners list.
Baweja accepted the trophy alongside workforce professors Syed Abbas, Fawad Rauf, Joseph Irving, Yiping Wang and Rani Mangal, program coach Ariana Herrman, program director Susan Stancy Abraham and Mesch. Enrollment details for the EET program are available at collin.edu.
