Wylie residents can raise a glass to local educators at a Back to School Sip n Paint on Tuesday, August 11, two days before Wylie ISD students return to class.

The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Landon Winery, 103 N. Ballard Ave., in the heart of downtown Wylie. Participants will paint a book-and-flowers canvas, with the option to add a bright red apple to the finished piece as a gift for a favorite teacher.

The theme fits the moment. Wylie ISD's teacher prep week runs Monday, August 10, through Wednesday, August 12, according to the approved 2026–27 district calendar, and the first day of school is Thursday, August 13. That makes the paint night a last chance for the community to show appreciation before the hallways fill up again.

Beverly Wyly announced the event on Landon Winery's blog on Wednesday, July 29, inviting attendees to "celebrate teachers, back to school, or just the love of reading."

Landon Winery's Wylie location offers wines, charcuterie, and small plates on the menu during the session. The Discover Downtown Wylie events page shows the paint night is part of a string of creative evenings this summer; the downtown calendar has already hosted a Diamond Art Painting Night and a Beginner Embroidery Workshop at Witty Wick Candles.
