Downtown Wylie's historic district will host a 19-stop Oktoberfest Village Stroll on Saturday, Oct. 3, with local shops, restaurants and vendors offering seasonal specials along N. Ballard Avenue.
Discover Downtown Wylie is coordinating the free event, which runs from noon to 7 p.m. and links participating businesses into a walkable route through the district's brick storefronts. Attendees can register for a passport to track their visits across all 19 stops.
The Oct. 3 stroll is the anchor date, but some participating businesses are running fall programming throughout September and October. Landon Winery and Glen Echo Brewing are both offering seasonal specials and events during that broader window, according to Wylie Times.
Landon Winery, at 103 N. Ballard Ave., is one of the main stops. The winery posted on Instagram on Aug. 28 that it had teamed up with 18 other downtown businesses for the stroll, describing stops featuring food, beer, wine, whiskey, shopping, crafts, contests and activities. Landon Winery is also hosting recurring "Sip, Paint, Create" doormat-painting workshops through September and October, where attendees can design a fall-themed doormat over a glass of wine.
Glen Echo Brewing, at 106 N. Birmingham St., is releasing fall seasonal taps during the same stretch. Pumpkin, amber and harvest-style ales will cycle through the brewery's lineup, the Wylie Times reported. Debbie Schoenekase, listed in public records as Glen Echo Brewing's founder, opened the brewery just around the corner from the stroll's main corridor on Ballard Avenue.
The stroll is structured around individual vendor stops rather than a single ticketed venue. Each business sets its own specials, themed merchandise or fall-focused activities, and the format spreads across the street rather than concentrating in one lot.
Admission is free. A Plano Moms listing for the event confirmed the Oct. 3 date and noon-to-7 p.m. hours.
Specific workshop dates for Landon Winery's doormat-painting sessions and Glen Echo Brewing's individual tap releases have not been published. Residents looking for the full vendor list or registration details can check discoverwylie.com, though the site was returning errors as of Sept. 16.
