A charity pickleball tournament in Murphy on Saturday, Nov. 7 will collect donations for a Sachse nonprofit while splitting players into two skill-level divisions.

The DINKSgiving Pickleball Tournament at the Preserve at Maxwell Creek pairs Thanksgiving-season competition with a drive for 5 Loaves Ministries, according to the city's event listing. Teams that donate five items to 5 Loaves receive $10 off their $25 registration fee.

Registration includes an event T-shirt.

The social/beginner division runs 9 a.m. to noon at the park, located at 670 N. Murphy Rd., and the intermediate/advanced division follows from noon to 3 p.m. The City of Murphy promoted the tournament on its Instagram account alongside other fall events, including a Jingle Jog and a Fall Sweep volunteer cleanup.

5 Loaves Ministries was founded in Sachse as a ministry of NorthPointe Church of Christ and says on its website that it supports more than 800 families weekly with food, diapers, mentoring and financial education.
