The Sachse Farmers Market is back for its 2026 season at 3324 Fifth St. in the 5th Street District.
The market runs every second Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is the only farmers market within Sachse city limits, the Sachse Journal reported. Vendors have included fresh churros, breakfast tacos and artisan baked goods such as Parmesan focaccia bread. The market operates through the Four Seasons Markets network, which organizes farmers markets across the country.
Because the market runs only twice a month, dates are posted on the market's Facebook page.
About five minutes east in Wylie, the Wylie Urban Farm & Market at 2315 E. Stone Rd. sells organic groceries, produce and handmade goods seven days a week. The store opened in December 2024.
Brandon Iker, founder of the earlier Wylie Urban Farm Co-op, opened the brick-and-mortar store after Rachel Echols launched the first seasonal Wylie Farmer's Market in 2024, according to Iker's project page. Iker's background includes sustainable agriculture and environmental science. The two combined efforts to create the current market.
One detail draws shoppers: eggs from cage-free chickens raised directly across the street from the store.
The product list includes locally grown fruits and vegetables, pasture-raised meat and eggs, dairy from local farms, locally roasted coffee, baked goods and prepared foods such as pizza made with local vegetables. The market also hosts workshops on cooking with local ingredients, sustainable farming and nutrition, plus yoga classes.
Hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Upcoming Sachse Farmers Market dates are posted on the market's Facebook page at facebook.com/sachsefarmersmarket. The Wylie Urban Farm & Market is open daily at 2315 E. Stone Rd.
