Sachse will hold a public ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11, to mark 25 years since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony runs from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the Public Safety Building, 3815-D Sachse Road. Sachse Fire-Rescue and the Sachse Police Department will lead the observance, according to a city announcement published Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The building houses both departments. The city described the event as a moment of reflection and remembrance honoring victims, survivors and first responders. All residents are welcome.
The Public Safety Building is also the site of a First Responder Monument the city dedicated in November 2025.
Sachse's observance is separate from the ceremony Wylie Fire Rescue is holding the same day at Fire Station No. 4, where a sculpture made from World Trade Center steel stands, as we reported Sept. 2.
