Sachse police recorded six DWI offenses in August, with four along the State Highway 78 corridor, according to the department's monthly crime report.

The SH-78 stops stretched across the month. An Aug. 6 stop at the 6900 block generated four separate offense reports: DWI involving a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of tobacco by a minor. Additional SH-78 DWI offenses were logged Aug. 9 at the 5900 block, Aug. 13 at the 7600 block and Aug. 29 at the 6000 block.

The remaining two DWI offenses occurred off the highway. One on Aug. 15 at the 5600 block of Burlwood Estates Drive also involved a vehicle crash. The other was logged Aug. 22 at the 5300 block of Murphy Road.

The SH-78 pattern is not new. The department's July 2026 report recorded a DWI at the 5700 block of the corridor and a related DUI-minor offense at the 5900 block.

The August report logged two aggravated assaults. One was reported Aug. 9 at the 7200 block of Dove Cove Drive. The second, on Aug. 5 at the 5300 block of The Station Boulevard, was accompanied by an interference-with-emergency charge at the same address.

The 5300 and 4900 blocks of The Station Boulevard saw additional activity. The 5300 block logged an assault against an elderly person on Aug. 6, a harassment/family violence report on Aug. 9 and an assault causing bodily injury on Aug. 22. The 4900 block recorded credit or debit card abuse on Aug. 15 and an unlawful-carrying-of-a-weapon charge on Aug. 22.

An organized retail theft was reported Aug. 21 at the 5100 block of SH-78. That same address logged two theft-of-property offenses and a criminal trespass warning on Aug. 18.

A building burglary was reported Aug. 31 at the 2900 block of Miles Road. A vehicle burglary was logged Aug. 21 at the 8000 block of Woodbridge Parkway.

One address stood out for repeat calls. The 3900 block of Miles Road generated eight offense reports in August alone, ranging from assault by contact and disorderly conduct to multiple possession-of-controlled-substance charges and an evading-arrest report.

The report covers criminal offense reports only and excludes calls for service that did not require a written report. Addresses are rounded to the nearest hundred block.

Residents can contact the Sachse Police Department at 3815-D Sachse Road or through the city's website to report suspicious activity.
