Sachse families can drop into a free afternoon of yard games and inflatables on Tuesday, Nov. 3, when Sachse Parks and Recreation brings its Pop-Up Park series to Heritage Park.
The event runs from 4 to 5:30 p.m. No registration is required, and there is no cost.
A note for anyone planning to attend: the city's Pop-Up Parks page lists Heritage Park as the Nov. 3 location and provides the 4 to 5:30 p.m. time. However, a Sachse Journal article published Oct. 23 identified the venue as J.K. Sachse Park. Residents should check the city's page before heading out to confirm the location.
At each Pop-Up Park stop, the department's T.R.A.I.N. trailer (Traveling Recreational Activities in Nature) hauls yard games, inflatable games and other activities to a city park, according to the city's website. The Sachse Journal reported that city staff set up and lead the programming on site. The come-and-go format means families can arrive and leave at any point during the 90-minute window, the Journal reported.
The Nov. 3 stop is the third in this fall's series. Firefighters Park hosted the first event on Sept. 16, and J.K. Sachse Park hosted the second on Oct. 3, according to the city's schedule.
The series is part of a broader push by Sachse Parks and Recreation to bring programming directly into neighborhood parks rather than asking residents to travel to a central facility. Each event rotates to a different park, reaching different pockets of the community across the fall calendar.
The city advises residents to check the Pop-Up Parks page on event days for possible cancellations due to weather or safety concerns.
